Shooting with SOF Event - Sunday, October 13

Shooting with SOF (Special Operation Forces) is a community fusion event to bring excitement and esprit de corps by combining business leaders and former operators together in an once-in-a-lifetime series of shooting events. The event will help raise funds for special operations charities that support operators and their families.

Please note, this is a Shooting with SOF event that will coincide with the GEOINT 2013 Symposium. This event is not part of the GEOINT 2013 Symposium agenda, and will require separate registration and payment.

GEOINT 2013 to Offer More Than 30 Hours of Professional Development Sessions

In addition to the keynotes, panels and exhibits, GEOINT 2013 has added more than 30 hours of training, education and professional development sessions, and participants receive certificates of attendance for each 2-hour session.

Topics range from GMTI to Commercial EO Access and Cross Cultural Negotiations to Spatial Literacy. Access to the sessions are included with Full-Symposium registration, which is free to active-duty military, government, and first responders and homeland security personnel.

Robert Scoble and Shel Israel to Give Joint Keynote at GEOINT 2013

Co-Authors to discuss location-based technology at GEOINT Symposium

Technology enthusiasts Robert Scoble and Shel Israel know what it takes to be successful when it comes to emerging technological trends. Scoble and Israel, co-authors of Naked Conversations: How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers, will share their knowledge of the tech world in a joint keynote presentation Oct. 14 as part of the GEOINT 2013 Symposium, held October 13-16 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.

USGIF Awards Program Nominations Due TODAY

USGIF is now accepting nominations for its annual geospatial awards program. The USGIF Awards Program recognizes the exceptional work of community members for intelligence achievement, to include government, military industry, administrative support, academic achievement and academic research.

We encourage you to nominate yourself, an individual, or team deserving of such recognition. If you’d like to submit a nomination, you can download applications from the Awards Program page. The deadline for awards nominations is 5 p.m. ET Friday, August 30.

Call for Presentations - Deadline Today

The GEOINT Symposium has issued a call for presentations for the GEOINT Foreword Lightning Talks. The deadline for abstract proposals is Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 11:59pm EDT

Lightning Talk presentations will focus on interoperability or emerging technologies as they are related to this year’s theme, Operationalizing Intelligence for Global Missions.

Lightning Talks are limited to five minutes each and will be presented 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, as a capstone to the GEOINT Foreword event. GEOINT Foreword has grown over the past several years, solidifying itself as the science and technology focused preface to the GEOINT Symposium’s general sessions.

Parag Khanna To Give Keynote Address at GEOINT 2013

Renowned futurist and geo-strategist Dr. Parag Khanna is a senior fellow at the New America Foundation and an avid traveler on a mission to share his knowledge on evolving global and technological trends. As part of the GEOINT 2013 Symposium, October 13-16 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL, Dr. Khanna will share his views Oct. 16 on the future of global political and technological geography.
